Schlichter, Shonack & Keeton, LLP takes pride in its ability to prosecute legal actions as well as it defends against them. While we specialize in defending liability or contract lawsuits, we frequently represent our business clients as plaintiffs for collections, breach of contract and malicious prosecution.
We obtained a $3.05 million result for our client in Smith v. Orange Blossom Lines, Inc. which was the largest individual defamation verdict in the state that year, and we recently prevailed in a class action lawsuit against the County of Los Angeles.
Our undefeated appellate practice has expanded recently with several significant cases settling on appeal after the opposition received the firm’s appellate briefs.

Fees and Billing
Schlichter, Shonack & Keeton, LLP works creatively with each client to provide a competitive and, when possible, predictable method of determining legal fees. Unlike many other law firms, we routinely waive costs and expenses — mileage, fax, telephone, and routine photocopy charges. We believe that these costs are overhead that our clients shouldn’t have to pay. Certain services are offered on a flat-fee basis, others on a cost-and-profit sharing basis, as appropriate to the circumstances and within the boundaries of legal ethics.
Location and Growth
Our South Bay location is a reflection of the firm itself — accessible yet economical, professional, and business-friendly. The firm doubled in size in its first two years and remains committed to growth through high quality legal work.
